Join us at the inaugural Poetry Night in Crystal Lake at The Other Side Café and Sober Bar where local
writers, poets and poetry lovers gather to share word performances by published poets, troubadours,
minstrels, sonneteers and beginners.

Large Community Room seats up to 50 attendees
A place to leave a thought as well as find one. Read or listen to prose, poetry, verse or otherwise, join
poets and wanderers – the vibe is all the same because everyone needs a place to rest and stay a while
with a good cup of coffee – alone or with friends. The Other Side Café is about keeping good and in good
company.
Everyone is welcome to join the Paladins of Poetry group and/or attend the 3 rd -Thursday’s monthly
poetry night event beginning November 16th. The event is scheduled to start at 6PM (sign-in or sign-up
early at the venue’s coffee shop). Or arrive a little early to sit; take a breath and enjoy a tea, a coffee,
espresso, latte or other refreshment and a light sandwich – the Café staff is fabulous.
Come one – Come all and be ready to say your way or just stop by and listen to your soul; the words you
bring – may be the thoughts you take away.

If you love words, verse, and poetry then this is your realm to be at!
Plan now to attend the monthly third-Thursday Poetry Night for an unforgettable experience and
evening filled with the passions of raw talent and appreciate the captivating skills and performances of
established poets. Appreciate the blooming talents of new writers in this monthly gathering of
community hosted by the community. All of it is offered in a friendly, supportive, and vibrant
atmosphere!
Please plan to attend and help us make this night of expression and thought into an acclaimed place of a
Poetry Night in Crystal Lake. Our goal is to form an ultimate stage for a diversity of poets and artists

including practiced wordsmiths. Help us discover how spontaneous verse and stream-of-conscious ideas
can motivate and connect a community of passionate poetry lovers and poetic writers, sharing their
artistic creations, with an embracing and an enthusiastic audience. All happening in a community room
of poetry.
The Other Side Café and Sober Bar provides a unique venue with a place for coffee, refreshments, and
light sandwiches and all offered in a spacious space where one can with friends. There is also an
adjacent community room where daily events and functions are hosted whether in private meetings, a
community support group, creative workshops, comedy nights or an open-mic night that can include
many talents in music, spoken word performances or standup comedy shows!
